Are you curious about how to protect your Dutch’D shoes? See below for the 4 tips we've prepared for you!
Dutch'D chose to offer Collonil products. We trust Collonil because it has proven for years that it makes the best shoe care products. In addition, all products are developed in-house at Collonil in Germany. They have a large testing facility where they test all their products themselves. This helps them stay ahead of other shoe care brands.
Once you've bought new shoes, you'll want to keep them looking fresh for as long as possible. You wear them with pride and want to keep them in great condition. Here are 4 tips to keep your shoes in tip-top shape!
Tip 1: Prevention is better than cure
As soon as you buy your Dutch’D shoes, we recommend spraying them with protecting spray. Why should I spray my shoes? We recommend it because it makes the shoes more resistant to moisture and dirt. A spray creates a protective layer over the shoe, keeping moisture and dirt out. Do you wear your shoes every day? Then we recommend spraying them weekly. We recommend the product Collonil Carbon Lab Protecting Spray.
In addition to this product, you can also use a sole protector. We recommend this for shoes with light-colored soles. The Midsole Sealer is the best product for this! It provides a dirt-repellent protective layer around the sole. Thanks to this protection, the sole stays cleaner and discolors less quickly due to factors such as the sun's UV radiation.

Tip 2: Clean your shoes regularly
One of the best tips is to clean your shoes regularly. Some shoes require more maintenance than others. This depends on the materials they are made of. The color of the shoe also makes a big difference. Light-colored shoes get visibly dirty more quickly than dark-colored shoes. The Collonil Carbon Lab Cleaning Foam helps you deep-clean your shoes in no time. Always use a soft cloth, preferably a microfiber cloth. Be sure to brush off any loose sand from the shoe first! Otherwise, the coarser sand can damage the leather during cleaning. You can remove the sand with a soft brush.

In addition to the cleaning foam, we also offer another product from the Collonil range. The Carbon Lab midsole cleaner is a must-have. With this product, you can get your soles clean again in no time.

Tip 3: Store your shoes on a shoe tree
If you store your shoes on a shoe tree, they will keep their shape better. In addition, the tension on the leather helps smooth out wrinkles. Cedar shoe trees are best. As well as stretching the shoe, a cedar shoe tree also absorbs moisture. This not only helps your shoe keep its shape, but also keeps it smelling fresher by absorbing moisture.
Tip 4: Color your shoes in time
Shoes go through a lot during wear, so their color can deteriorate and fade over time, and scratches from damage are inevitable. You can use products to nourish the leather, and it's also advisable to touch up the color from time to time. Always make sure to color the entire shoe so you don't see any color differences.
If you have white shoes, we recommend using Collonil Carbon Lab - sneaker white. You can make your shoes beautiful and white again in an instant. (Don't forget to wash the laces!) You can also use sneaker white to make the soles white again.
